Orange's Unik PC Paves the Way for PC/Mobile Convergence
Orange continues to lead the pack with innovative new fixed-mobile convergence solutions. By leveraging its installed UMA infrastructure, Orange Business Services has launched Unik PC, a simple plug-and-work USB key that puts a mobile phone client on a subscriber's PC.
This valuable tool for business travelers allows users to call freely from abroad or within France from a computer connected to the Internet via a company network, from your home connection or with Wi-Fi.
Subscribers have the same phone number and same voicemail between the mobile phone and PC client, and can make and receive calls by simply clicking on a contact in an address book or on a number displayed on a web site. PC calls are unlimited 24 hours a day/7 days a week to Orange mobiles (in France) and landlines in France from anywhere in the world. Other calls are deducted from the mobile package at the same cost as a call made from mainland France to anywhere. This enables companies to better control costs linked to mobile calls.
We can't wait to see what Orange comes up with next.
