Orange Unleashes Latest Samsung UMA Handset
Orange has unveiled the SGH-P220, the latest UMA-enabled, dual-mode handset available from Samsung.
With this addition, Orange has 11 UMA-enabled dual-mode handsets available to subscribers of its Unik/Unique service. Now, more than 15% of the handsets for sale at Orange in France are UMA enabled.
The Samsung P220 announcement comes hot on the heels of other new UMA-enabled Samsung phones, including the P180 and the P260, also both offered to Orange's Unik subscribers.
The P220 bar-style phone has a 2-inch screen with 128 x 160 pixel resolution and a weight of 71 grams. To store files for its MP3 player, 1.3 megapixel camera or address book that stores up to 1,000 contacts, there is a 10MB internal memory, plus a microSD giving the phone up to 2GB memory. It also comes with a charging desktop cradle for easy use and charging when the user is at home or the office.
