REMINDER: Nominations for UMA Innovation Awards 2008 are Due 14 January

UMA Today and Orange/France Telecom will recognize excellence and innovation in UMA-based products and services with the UMA Innovation Awards 2008.Nominations are currently being accepted, with a deadline of 5pm (17:00) GMT on Monday 14 January, 2008.

Georges Penalver, senior executive vice president of strategic marketing for France Telecom Group, will host the awards ceremony at Mobile World Congress 2008 (formerly 3GSM).

“UMA is a strategic technology for any operator developing a 'home zone' service offer," said Penalver. "UMA is the cornerstone technology of Orange's convergence strategy, and the company is proud to sponsor the UMA Innovation Awards."

UMA Innovation Awards will be given in the following categories:

DEVICES: Best Dual-Mode Handset (Feature phone), Best Dual-Mode Handset (Smart phone), Best Client Software, Best Test Platform

INFRASTRUCTURE: Best Infrastructure (UNC solution), Best Infrastructure (UNC component)

SERVICE: Best Home Zone Service, Best Home Zone Service Marketing/ Advertisting

INDUSTRY: Most Influential Person, Most Influential Company
