Telia Home Free TeliaSonera Launches Home Free in Sweden

TeliaSonera, which launched the first UMA-based service in the world in Denmark in 2006, announced it will extend that same UMA-based Home Free service in Sweden.

Available as of Sept. 28, Telia Sweden's Home Free includes 2 packages. The basic offer is: calls to all fixed-line numbers and Telia mobiles in Sweden are FREE when made from home; calls to all Telia mobiles in Sweden, including the household’s IP mobiles, are FREE with the Telia Mobile-to-Friends subscription; calls answered on the fixed-line number outside the home, are FREE.

In a unique turn, Telia decided to market the service to anyone with a broadband connection; Home Free will not be tied to TeliaSonera's own broadband service. Now anyone with a broadband subscription can sign up for the service.
