So you have passed all 80 of the 51-010 GAN conformance tests, your mobile device is now ready for market. Well not quite! Most of these 80 test procedures are written to ensure interoperability between different mobile devices and the new network elements added to facilitate GAN, such as the GAN-C and Security Gateway. While 51-010 includes over 60 tests for GSM Handovers, it included only 6 for GSM to GAN handover. There are no GAN tests for change of AMR codec or receive sensitivity like there are for regular GSM coverage, so despite passing all 80 GAN tests your mobile device could still lack the performance required to ensure customer satisfaction.
The Agilent 8960 provides the capability to simply and quickly test all the fundamental services not covered by 51-010, such as sensitivity, AMR codec changes, DTM operation, data services test for SMS/MMS, Push to Talk (PTT/PoC), Web Browsing, data throughput test and extensive options for handover test (including DTM).
Don’t just hope that all these essential mobile functions will be OK, guarantee it with the 8960. Learn more
