Test Solution

Azimuth’s Suite of Automated Tests provide a platform to benchmark the Wi-Fi Data and Voice Performance of Cellular/ Wi-Fi Handsets. The solution provides a set of comprehensive automated scripts that streamline the testing of FMC handsets and converged wireless devices for carriers, handset manufacturers and semiconductor vendors. The solution enables repeatable performance testing over a broad range of user environments.

Enables users to:

•	Thoroughly analyze the voice quality and data performance of handsets in a variety of range, roaming, Hand-in/Hand-out and interfernce conditions
•	Measure handset’s battery life under various motion and traffic conditions
•	Reduce the handset testing process from weeks to days
•	Perform advanced handset tests that were previously difficult or impossible
•	Produce accurate and repeatable test results
•	Bring higher quality FMC handset products to market faster

FMC Performance Family of Scripts

Test Script	Description
VoWi-Fi Handset Range Test Script	Assesses handset voice quality using the Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) based MOS scores as a function of distance from the Access Point.
Client Range Performance Test Suite	Analyzes the throughput and automatic rate adaptation performance of a device as a function of its distance from the Access Point.
VoWi-Fi Handset Roaming Test Script	Measures call integrity (dropped calls) and voice quality over the roam by creating an accurate emulation of a roaming setting through precise control of the motion between the handset and two different Wi-Fi Access Points.
Client Roaming Performance Test Suite	Measures roam time for fail-over or smooth transition roam by creating an accurate emulation of a roaming setting through precise control of the motion between the handset and two different Wi-Fi Access Points.
VoWi-Fi Handset Hand-in/Hand-out Performance Test Script	Measures number of calls dropped and voice performance during handover between Wi-Fi and Cellular networks in varying network conditions.
Battery Life Performance Test Suite	Places the device under test into a set series of mode sequences (example: standby and active call) and measures the time for the battery to run to exhaustion.
