Maintaining privacy while on the GAN network requires connecting through Security Gateways (SEGW) which mandate complex security algorithms such as IKEV2 which are all new to the cellular industry and as such need to be tested not only against expected scenarios but also error scenarios which can only be fully tested within an UMA test system.
The Aeroflex UMA/GAN protocol test system is designed to test all the feature sets enabled within an UMA/GAN compliant device. There is one single point of control that enables complex scenarios to
be created, controls the SEGW within the emulated UNC/GANC, logs and decodes to bit level all the cellular and UMA/GAN protocol signaling sent to,
or received from the device under test.
The UMA/GAN enabled 6103 AIME is a full featured R&D test system capable of executing all the certification test cases listed in the 3GPP TS51.010 specification. The PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB) has already stated it requires GAN to be part of the formal certification mandated by all 3GSM devices used designed for the Americas.
